Fox On The Run & Ballroom Blitz Featured In “Guardians Of The Galaxy 2” And “Suicide Squad”

The iconic rock band Sweet is experiencing a resurgence with the use of two of their biggest hits being featured in conjunction with two blockbuster movies, “Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2” and “Suicide Squad.” Sweet’s hit, “Ballroom Blitz” was in the international trailer for “Suicide Squad” and received 13 million downloads. “Fox On The Run” is featured in both the soundtrack and the movie of “Guardians Of The Galaxy 2” due in theatres May 2017. Steve Priest, who co-wrote and co-produced the gold top-5 single, “Fox On The Run,” will be taking Sweet back on the road in May.

Following the #1 Billboard charted soundtrack to the 2014 blockbuster,” Guardians Of The Galaxy ,” fans are curious to see the track list for “Awesome Mixtape Vol. 2,” which Star-Lord opened at the end of the first movie. A little taste of the follow up was featured in the recently released Volume 2 trailer. Sweet’s “Fox On The Run” was the song that played over the footage and the 1974 tune quickly became the top downloaded rock song on iTunes. THR is reporting that the latest from writer/director James Gunn scored a rare perfect score of 100 for its test screening.

British rock band Sweet rose to worldwide fame in the 1970’s as a prominent glam rock act. Their musical style followed a marked progression from their pop hits to the Who-influenced hard rock style supplemented by the striking use of high pitched vocals. The band achieved notable success with numerous hits including #1 “Blockbuster,” “Love Is Like Oxygen,” “Little Willy,” “Hell Raiser,” “Ballroom Blitz,” “Action,” “Teenage Rampage,” “ACDC,” and “Fox On the Run”.

Sweet’s current lineup is founding member Steve Priest on bass and vocals, Joe Retta on lead vocals, Richie Onori on drums, Stevie Stewart on keyboards and Mitch Perry on lead guitar.
